DECEMBER 2009 Calendar

ECUMENICAL THANKSGIVING SERVICE

St. John’s will host the Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service on Wednesday, November 25th, at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Don MacDonald from the Danforth Reformed Church will preach. We ask that you bring a food item for G.O.D.’s Food Pantry. All are welcome!

St. John’s Christmas Cantata

St. John’s Choir will perform a Christmas Cantata titled “A Song is Born” on Sunday, December 6th, at the 8:30 a.m. Worship Service. Everyone from Confirmation Students through Adults are welcome to join us! Rehearsals will be from 11:00 a.m. - noon on Sunday mornings and from 7:30-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights. 

WELCA Stewardship Project for November/December is Tree of Warmth and Food Pantry

The following items are needed for the Tree of Warmth:

Mittens, gloves, scarves, hats, coats, slippers and socks. The items can be brought to the Church at any time.

“BUSHELS OF GRAIN”

“Bushels of Grain”

For St. John’s Lutheran Church, Danforth, IL

Farmers have the opportunity to give a gift of “Bushels of Grain” for St. John’s at area elevators. Simply let the Elevator operator know how many bushels you wish to give to the Church in thanksgiving to God. This has been set up at the following Elevators:

Rabideau Grain Co., Clifton, IL

Tri-Central Co-op, Ashkum, IL

Ludlow Co-op, Danforth, Gilman, LaHogue and DelRey, IL
